HALLOWEEN PARTY CANCELLED TONIGHT; COMMUNITY SAFETY PROGRAM, LET'S ALL GO TO THE MOVIES; PLANNING FINANCIALLY FOR YOUR FAMILY'S FUTURE; SIGN A PETITION

HALLOWEEN PARTY CANCELLED FOR THE 31ST
The Halloween party, sponsored by The Lollipop Kids Foundation and scheduled for October 31, 2012, has been cancelled.  Due to the hurricane, the First Baptist Church has cancelled all facility activities for the rest of the week.  The Lollipop Kids Foundation apologizes for any inconvenience.

COMMUNITY SAFETY PROGRAM with Officer Michael Prather, Public Communications Officer of the Montgomery County Police will be discussing guidelines to protect ourselves when walking in the neighborhood.  Because of our adult children with disabilites walk in the neighborhoods and use public transportation, learn what to do if you are threatened or attacked, who to contact and what to expect from the police in handling a reported incident.  This meeting will be held on November 8, 2012, from 7:30-9P, at the Arc of Montgomery County, in Rockville, MD.  Email reda.sheinberg@mctransitions.org for details.

LET'S ALL GO TO THE MOVIES....EVEN THE NOISIEST ONE IN THE GROUP!!!!  The Autism Society and the AMC RIO Cinema 18 presents, "Wreck It Ralph", on November 10, 2012, @ 10A, in Gaithersburg, MD.  In an accepting and comfortable setting, the lights will be brought up and the sound turned down.  No previews or advertisements! The audience is welcome to get up and dance, walk, shout, and sing!  Families can bring their own dietary snacks.  For other locals across the U.S.A., go to: http://www.autism-society.org/get-involved/events/sensory-friendly-films/

NAVAGATING THE FINANCIAL WORLD OF THE FAMILY WITH SPECIAL NEEDS WORKSHOP sponsored by the M&L Special Needs Planning, LLC, will be held at the National Children's Center, Northwest Campus, in Washington, DC, November 29, 2012,  from 6:30-9P.  Addressed will be the basics of whats considered for the present and future, i.e., legal and estate issues, guardianship, Special Needs Trust and it's funding with the Letter of Intent.  RSVP by email dcohen@nccinc.org or 301-593-3948.
